Wordpress

Description

The project assignment, were to create a wordpress page, that with-held pictures and definitions of our projects, and learnings as part of our education.

The issue being, the layout is in a list form. What I really wanted, was a gallery of my projects. So that the images and links was side-by-side boxes and not in list format. To create an overview to the user/visitor of the page and also to be a time-saver so that the user could save time and instead of scrolling perhaps visit more pages.

The theme I went with, does have a feature of changing the template to a full sized page, and not have the right-side widgets menu. But the space that it creates is still not available to actually fill out. Now that I have more experience in setting up webpages with HTML CSS & jQuery I went ahead and try to made the changes to the wordpress portfolio site, to match what I wanted it to look like in the first place.

Concept Development

Description

In short terms the assignment was to develop an idea for the worldknown brand Fanta, for them to appeal to a segment at the ages of 15-20 year old, since people at this age rarely drink Fanta.

The 2 best things I got out of this project was this. Firstly working with advertising a good rule-of-thumb is to take something analogue and make it digital. I.E have an analogue can of soda and make it digital or interactive by using the tools we have in the world wide web. Secondly to make a succesful ad-campaign, you must give the target group a feel of either having "insider-knowledge" or offer the sensation of them being special by knowing something others doesn't. I.E There is this bar in New York, called "please don't tell", the city's best known secret. You could only make reservation by ONE phone in a phonebooth, in all of the city. Yet this bar was always fully booked. Because of this strategy.

Website from client brief

Description

The target group was elder people, and the assignment were to develop a site that would make a community for active elder people that enjoyed Nordic Walking.

What I experienced from this project was how to withdraw information from the client, so that the site would live up to their expectations. A rule of thumb is to ask as many open questions as possible so that the client, will describe in their own words what they actually wants. That way it is easier to match their expectations, and not have an endless back and forth about what could be better and what doesn't work.

Intercultural Website

Description

In this group project, we had to develop a website in english and danish for a garden landscape company, called Unique Landscapes. We had to implement a user test and the so called gangster test. Therefore we had to keep in mind that the site should appeal to the right target group in design and usability and then test what we made.

The most important thing I picked up in the process of this, was to have a grid system when making a website. The original development of this site is only made for full-hd resolutions (1920*1080px). And therefore som of my groupmembers couldn't see the full perspective of the site when viewed on smaller screen. Since then I started always folowing the 960px grid. Which automatically makes the site responsive down to iPad and most tablets.

Redesigned Portfolio

Description

This was the final assignment for the 1.st semester. What we had to do was to code our own portfolio from start to scratch and implement everything we worked with so far. Be it code, photoshop, illustrator and business skills. I want to become a developer with a wide experience in all code languages so this quickly became a sort of digital playground for me to try all of the things and thoughts I had so far.

weeks before the project kicked off i researched a lot of videos on lynda.com and a channel on youtube called Dev Tips. I then began to create some mock-ups in photoshop on how I wanted my site to look so I was more than ready when the project started. I was very comitted to do a one-pager and had it feel like a web application with no back-end development. But to be honest, I don't like the idea of a one-page design. It's get too tricky when it comes to lower resolution to have all that content to fit into smaller viewports without doing days of media queries.

Danske Bank - Change the way we bank

Description

This assignment was how to come up with an invention to improve the way we bank in Denmark. We were put in groups cross classes from all of the school and had to come up with an idea

In this project, I learned a lot about my self in a leading role. I was in a group with somewhat passive members. Who let me take charge, it was both very new and very exciting for me

CSR Strategy - ISS

Description

In this assignment we had to find a big company to make a CSR strategy for and then find a partner company, to then develop a website with focus on that CSR strategy

In this project I learned how important the smallest thing can be when you are tying to get a message through to people. We had a video which we thought would give a sentimental tone to our website but perhaps it could be too much, because ISS still want to appear professional.

Online Magazine - PubUp

Description

In this assignment we had to make an online magazine and a landing page to present that online magazine.

I was a big part of the front-end development and I am really glad with the result I got to. This is a project that I still consider coming back to and actually make fully functional with PHP and MySQL code to make the login pages and make the site more interactive. And this is mostly because I like that side menu on the website, and it doesn't do anything as it is now.

Blog & Chill

Description

This was a project to make a blog for web designers, where we had to setup the front end design for a blog site. And then have a back-end system where people could post their blogs.

This was a great project, where we finally had to implement a back-end system with PHP and MySQL, I really hope to work with back-end systems so to finally get to actually use it in a school project was for me, really great.

SMK - Statens museum for kunst

Description

In this project we had to work together with "Statens Museum for Kunst" and come up with an idea for them to attract younger customers

Unfortunately, I was sick during the first week of this project and couldn't really get into it after that. I did come up with an idea, that would draw in customers, by letting young people post pictures to instagram and the most upvoted pictures would then be placed in digital frame among other pictures from copenhagen. But I didn't participate in this project.

Førsteårs Eksamensprojekt

Description

This is my exam project for the first year. The case was to run an ad-campaign for a lingerie-company.

Our idea was to run a honest marketing campaign with a video interview of the co-founder from lulu's drawer. We also wanted to have a contest on facebook and instagram where people could be able to win a gift-certificate to lulu's drawer webshop.
